Our Local Programs

Community Hope Center

The services of our Community Hope Center include:

Emergency food assistance – Families in need receive free vouchers for food and basic household items. Those vouchers can only be used in our Community Hope Center. Churches in Central Florida also give out our vouchers to families coming to them for assistance to them, instead of having to run their own food pantry, give out certificates for local grocery stores or even give money to the people in need.

The Community Hope Center provides immediate assistance upon qualification. Families in need are able to receive same day assistance after qualifying through our client services caseworker.

“Basic need” self sufficiency  program – provides long term assistance that covers beyond the emergency situation. Our Community Hope Center also offers a long-term self-sufficiency program which families can qualify for. Those families have income, but not enough to fulfill their basic needs. Our program helps those families to be able to take care of their needs by giving small contributions towards the program for the products they receive.

Many churches, nonprofit organizations and government agencies are sending their clients to participate in this program, since it provides a long-term solution for those families.

Access and Resource Center

Our staff provides personal assistance with applications for governmental help such as Food Stamps and Medicaid. The services include the free use of phones, copy and fax machine as well as the opportunity for homeless families to use Harvest Time International’s address on the governmental applications to receive the assistance.

Our Client Services staff also refers clients with additional needs that Harvest Time International is not able to cover to other non-profits and agencies. The staff is well educated in available services throughout the community. We provide the necessary communication devices and if needed assist with the initial contact to the referred service.

Medical Care Center

Harvest Time International’s Medical Care Center will opened its doors August 19th, 2011 and provide medical attention for uninsured, working poor and low income families in Seminole and surrounding counties.

Qualifying families will be seen by volunteer doctors and nurses in one of five available examination rooms. Basic medical care will be provided for uninsured individuals with an income below 200% of the federal poverty level. Our medical care approach also entails a focus on prevention and healthier lifestyle. Classes offered to clients include “affordable nutrition for low income families”, “making right choices buying groceries”, “fitness” and “healthy weight management”. The goal is to prevent obesity and other diseases which most likely will be passed down from generation to generation through the example of an unhealthy lifestyle of the parents.

Educational Classes

In collaboration with other organizations and companies Harvest Time International offers basic life skill classes to our clients (budgeting, nutrition, computer classes, etc.).

Community Events

Harvest Time International participates in several community events throughout the year to reach out to families. We also sponsor many community events with needed product donations.

Annual Christmas Assistance “Christmas Bag of Joy”

Every year Harvest Time International provides free Christmas gifts to over 4,000 local children whose parents are not able to provide presents for them Christmas morning. The Holiday Season can be especially difficult for families struggling on a daily basis to make ends meet. By enabling parents to provide for their children, dignity and joy is brought to the whole family.
